Isn't it somehow related to reincarnation?

With respect to concepts of the individual soul, Thelema follows traditional Hermeticism in the doctrine that each person possesses a soul or "Body of Light" which is arranged in "layers" or "sheaths" surrounding the physical body. Each individual is also considered to have his or her own personal "Augoeides" or "Holy Guardian Angel"; which can be considered both as the "higher self" and as a separate, sentient, divine being. With respect to concepts of the afterlife, life itself is considered as a continuum, with death an integral part of the whole. Mortal life dies in order that mortal life may continue. The Augoeides, however, is immortal and not subject to life or death.

Parallel to Buddhist doctrine, the Body of Light is considered to be subject to metempsychosis, or reincarnation, after the death of the body. The Body of Light is generally considered to evolve in wisdom, consciousness and spiritual power through cycles of metempsychosis for those individuals who dedicate their lives to spiritual advancement; to the point that its fate after death may ultimately be determined by the Will of the individual.

on a side note.........from what I understand, Thelema is not based on "beliefs" or faith.

Thelema offers a structure that allows the individual to uncover and carry out their true will.......that's it.

That being said, Thelema is an experiential training structure that will cause students to have certain experiences along their journey. It is through these (somewhat specific) experiences that begin to build a persons truth. Experience brings certainty......and all other beliefs need to be suspended to allow for the development of truth.

      From the sacred text:

      58. I give unimaginable joys on earth: certainty, not faith, while in life, upon death; peace unutterable, rest, ecstasy; nor do I demand aught in sacrifice.

      ps......oh yeah.....it's pretty much reincarnation. :) lol

It would seem that there is a free choice among Thelemites as to which path they choose to walk in relation to the afterlife...
If we take a look at The Gnostic Mass (Liber XV), more specifically the end of the 5th part where the Deacon together with the congregation are going through "The End" we see an indication of the Thelemic belief of the afterlife:

The Deacon. "Unto them from whose eyes the veil of life hath fallen may there be granted the accomplishment of their True Wills; whether they will absorption in the Infinite, or to be united with their chosen and preferred, or to be in contemplation, or to be at peace, or to achieve the labour and heroism of incarnation on this planet or another, or in any Star, or aught else, unto them may there be granted the accomplishment of their Wills; yea, the accomplishment of their Wills."

    Hopes this helps :)

Thanks for posting that. It is really beautiful, I think. And it reminds that I really need to start going to Mass. There's a wonderful group of OTO'ers who put on Masses pretty close (about an hour) away from me. I've only been twice - but both times were very moving experiences!
