Can anyone explain to me Crowley's concept of Hell?
I know I've read about it somewhere, but it escapes me at the moment.

        WINDLESTRAWS

        The Abyss of Hallucinations has Law and Reason;
but in Truth there is no bond between the Toys of
        the Gods.
This Reason and Law is the Bond of the Great Lie.
Truth! Truth! Truth! crieth the Lord of the Abyss
        of Hallucinations.
There is no silence in that Abyss: for all that men
        call Silence is Its Speech.
This Abyss is also called "Hell", and "The Many".
Its name is "Consciousness", and "The Universe",
        among men.
But THAT which neither is silent, nor speaks, re-
        joices therein.

          I was thinking of this : )

          The Vision and the Voice
The Cry of the 22nd Aethyr, Which is called LIN.
          pg.81
"My arms were out in the form of a cross, and that Cross was extended, blazing with light into infinity. I myself am the minutest point in it. This is the birth of form.

I am encircled by an immense sphere of many-coloured bands; it seems it is the sphere of the Sephiroth projected in the three dimensions. This is the birth of death.

Now in the centre within me is a glowing sun. That is the birth of Hell."

(the note to the last sentence reads: For Hell, see Liber Aleph. Hell is the Secret Centre of the Self. One perceives one's Star as one's True Self.

As in quoting Liber Aleph, because I don't own it?

you're very welcome - that sacred texts site is pretty sweet.

i was amazed at the amount of 'restricted' material i was able to find online...
i even found a torrent collection of strictly class A stuff (in pdf form, how nice of them)

but they'll never beat the Equinox collection i got for xmas a couple years back...

sacred text ROCKS! I need to print the stuff of though... I can't read a book online. It hurts my head. I still like having the books better but it is great resource when you can't find a book localy and need to look something up.

                          you aren't kidding, julia.

my digital library is IMMENSE and chock full of really rare stuff - but it is so much harder to read it on the screen than it is to get comfy with a book. i've found one thing that helps, is to have the pdf reader invert the colors so the text is white and the bg black... less stressful on the eyes, but still...

                          Agree on all accounts.

Sacred Texts has been great. I too have a lot of out of print stuff that I've picked up PDF's.

But, give me an old fashion tome everytime. Nothing like curling up with a good book; a Laptop or computer screen doesn't curl up with you in bed easily.

And looking at a computer screen gives me a headache too. Besides, I'm on it all day - I don't want to be plugged in all night too.
