Well, in celebration of the Master Therion's b-day I had a really good dinner, read "One Star in Sight" and then began composing a new Thelemic pray.

I will release it when it is completed.

i celebrated by having sexy ass
          thoughts about a certain person

          :D
          • i'm not sure that my school celebrates AC's actual birthday. we do have "Book of the Law Week" which is pretty cool. What day is his actual b-day?

Oct. 12, which is cool, as it used to be a Federal holiday in the US.

              Not for that reason though.

Still, one can find good things or bad things associated with any day - just a matter of perspective though.

Columbus day always kinda bugged me - one, 'cause he was directly or indirectly responsible for the death of millions of people, which is the same reason I don't celebrate St. Patrick's day. Two, because he not only wasn't the first person to 'discover' an already inhabited country, he wasn't even the first European. I think we should have a Leif Erikkson day - at least Leif had the sense to leave after he found that the land was already inhabited.

I can see the reasoning, though, as Colombo was the first Western Imperialist Christian to discover America, which is what really matters to good 'merrcans.

Otter, in case you didn't know, there's a movement among American Indians to reclaim October 12 as Indeginous People's Day, shifting the emphasis to celebrating first peoples' survival & resistance in the face of imperialism.
i read somewhere that Crowley said he was born on October 12 *in order to correct certain errors that occured on that date in 1492 e.v.*

                hmmm...

                  I hadn't known that.

Not sure how I feel about that. It will no doubt be used to spark the fires of meaningless political chatter, which in invaluable to The Powers That Be as a tool to keep the masses occupied while they continue to enslave and rob them.

Therefore, by the power vested in me by me, I hereby declare every day of the calendar - whichever one you choose to use - to be "Intergalactic We're All In The Same Boat Day".

A day to end the petty squabbling and just BE. Every day.

Uncle Al and I merge birthday's every year, mine the 10th of the tenth month, so we go out on the town on the 12th for his day and get nice and ripped in honour of "Do what thou wilt...." Nothing better than a good old-fashioned celebration with Rose, Al, Aiwass and me....(winkwink)

        (Grin) it sure isn't me!

A group of magicians raised glasses this evening and read from the vision and the voice. To honor the great beasts Greater feast.

I happen to have been able to stress the Britany Spears angle, since intoxification was read from the book. As well as a commentary that related to Babalon herself :)

Note her name: Britney Spears: "Its BS" which makes me think of the Master Therion himself :)

Who better to be his reincarnation than a la femme sex symbol who is rich and worships her femine nature.
        La la la la..... (wink)

It'd interesting you should ask. Typically here Horus Oasis throws a party, where all of us and of course any one who can comes and we make toast and in general have a good time. I was thinking it might be interesting to hijack a tradition which has already been hijacked. The Christmas tree. Or as I would call it the Crowleymass tree. You could get a tree, maybe a fake one as it's probably difficult for most to aqquire a pine tree in the fall. Unless you live in the woods. Decorate it with red and purple and gold, And deep blue, and get little ornaments like the Baphomet, and Nuit and Hadit. And a Horus if you want. I do however have an idea for a Horus Statue as a tree topper, but first let me suggest this. Instead of a an angel to represent the H.G.A how about a pictue of crowley, like the one where he's doing th Paian in the funny hat! Maybe someone can make those into hollow statues that fit over the top of the tree like the angels or stars that we use now. What'ya think? =)

  • In past years I have gone to a party. This year I went into town and had a few drinks and a toast to Mr. C. I haven't done that in years and it was fun.
    • well, it's that day again, and in addition to what i specified at the beginning of this thread, i'll watch Kenneth Anger's movie Lucifer Rising tonight...got the newly arrived volume 2 dvd of the films of Kenneth Anger yesterday! how's that for timing? :)

and what are the rest of you doing today?
      • Not being a genuinely observant Thelemite I actually neglected to intentionally celebrate the Master Therion's b-day in any way. However - October 12 this year happens to be the first day of the Hindu nine day holiday Navaratri, which I AM celebrating! AND I owe my interest in Hinduism to Uncle AL.

I would have loved to have done something awesome; dancing, drinking, mushrooms, something. But I was very sick and stayed at home all weekend. I reread Magick Without Tears and watched some Bill Hicks, whom I think AC would have loved. By next Crowleymas I hope to be fully active in my local temple and will have some fellow Thelemites to celebrate with. :P
